Birthday Of The Second President of India
Posted on by Dipmoy Mukherjee

It is the birthday of the second President of India, academic philosopher Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. It is considered a “celebration” day, where teachers and students report to school as usual but the usual activities and classes are replaced by activities of celebration, thanks and remembrance. At some schools on this day, the responsibility of teaching is taken up by the senior students to show appreciation for their teachers.
Since times immemorial, Indians have respected and idolized their teachers. Earlier, we used to call our teachers ‘Guru’ and now it’s the contemporary ‘Sir’ or ‘Madam’. Nevertheless, the role of teachers has remained the same. They were, are and will continue to be our guiding light, creating conditions conducive to our overall development. We will always be thankful to them for their constructive support. It is as an expression of this gratitude only that we celebrate Teacher’s Day in India.

Teacher’s Day is a tribute to the hard work and devotion of the teachers all year long, to educate a child. In India, teacher’s day is celebrated on 5th of September every year. Indian Teacher’s Day is dedicated to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a zealous advocate of education and one of the greatest scholars and teachers of all times, apart from being the first Vice President and the second President of India. As a mark of respect to this phenomenal teacher, his birthday came to be observed as Teacher’s Day in the country.

On Teacher’s day, students across India dress up as their teachers and take lectures in classes that are assigned to the teachers they represent. Sometimes, teachers sit in their classes as students, trying to relive the time when they, themselves, were students. Also, functions are organized in schools on the special day, where students present dance performances, dramas, and various other programs to entertain their teachers. This day provides for a healthy interaction between teachers and students as well.
Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan
Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was one of the most distinguished diplomats, scholars and teachers of India, apart from being the first Vice President and the second President of the country. As a tribute to this great teacher, his birthday is observed as Teacher’s Day across India. As a matter of fact, when his students and friends asked him for the permission to celebrate his birthday, it was he who asked them to celebrate the day as Teacher’s Day, honoring the efforts of teachers across the country.

Indian Teacher’s Day History
India has been celebrating Teacher’s Day on 5th September, since 1962. The day commemorates the birthday of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakhrishnan, a philosopher and a teacher par excellence, and his contribution towards Indian education system. Dr Radhakhrishnan believed that “teachers should be the best minds in the country”. On this day, we gratefully remember the great educationist, apart from honoring all the teachers that have made our life much more knowledgeable and fulfilled, as serving as our beacons of light.

Satyanweshi is flooding the theatres in Bengal .
Posted on by Dipmoy Mukherjee

Is it Feluda or Byomkesh Bakshi- who rules in the hearts of eight to eighteen? This is not a very new question for any Bengali who has spent reading detective stories written in the mother language. Who is the most popular one between them is a question of past decades. Feluda fascinates with his extraordinary intelligence and smartness. Simultaneously Byomkesh mesmerizes with his talent of disguise and sense of humour. While some boys want to grow as Tapesh Ranjan, the first cousin of Feluda. Whereas some want to be Ajit, the friend and soul mate of Byomkesh. Nobody can deny the craze and overwhelming popularity of these two detectives in the land of Bengalis from the pen of Satyajit Ray and Sharadindu Bandopadhyay. Once again the controversy is flooding the Bengalis. This time it rises through the celluloid called β€œ Byomkesh Bakshi” by Anjan Dutta. Both the characters are popular enough not just in the book but people also love to watch films based on these characters.

It is a fact that Byomkesh bakshi is a little behind in case of Celluloid world. Apart from β€œ Chiriakhana” by Satyajit Ray nobody dares to cast such a huge character on the screen. Ray made this possible and more appealing by casting Uttam Kumar as the lead character. After so many years, Anjan Dutta took the courage. This time he took the challenge with the very new Abir Chattopadhyay in the story called β€œAdim Ripu”. Dutta has made the most perfect and suitable casting. Once again it is proved that Bengalis can never miss any chance to watch Byomkesh that may be on the screen or may be through e book. Huge and long queues in front of the theatre halls are the perfect instances of its overwhelming success. The hanging houseful boards after the two weeks of its released date emphasizes the craze of the character among the Bengalis. It can be assured that the condition of the Tollygunge film industry can be changed if the directors focus on these characters.

Have to wait and watch at the Final
Posted on by Dipmoy Mukherjee

A world of unpredictable – this can be the title for the FIFA world cup, 2010. Nothing goes with the prediction of football experts rather than the octopus called Paul. From the very beginning most popular and well-built teams were out just because of their poor performance in several games or may be because of some wrong referring. Controversies are always with the world cup though that matters very little about the end result. Finally after knocking down Brazil in the quarterfinal and Uruguay in the Semi final Nederland have reached the sphere of final that is going to be held on 11th July, 2010. Whereas the German octopus Paul has already predicted before the game that the Germans will be out of the series at the semi finals paving the way for the Spanish team and surprisingly enough it has become correct when Spain knocked down them by 1-0 result at the semifinal. After the devastating winning of the Germans against the Argentina many people have predicted that they are going to take away the cup for this session. It is a little unfortunate that there is no Latin American team in this world cup. The best thing is that both teams have never won the FIFA world cup before. So whoever may be the winner it will be the first time celebration for the team. It is also clear that the FIFA world cup, 2010 will stay in the Europe for the next four years and really hope that may the best team win.

Pride or fear- Kolkata Metro Railway Service.
Posted on by Dipmoy Mukherjee

A discussion on the various aspects of Kolkata or about the pride of this city can never be completed without the mention of the metro railway service. This is the first city where rail service starts its journey on the track of metro in the whole country. Unfortunately enough this factor of pride has turned out to be a major factor of terror and fear for the authority for a last few years. A number of people use this service as their way of escaping from life. They prefer to take the track to commit suicide. This has become the ideal place for a number of young people to end up with their lives. The survey says that between the year 1998 and 2009 almost 184 people have attempted suicide on the track and among them 98 were rescued. Last year 15 people attempts and 5 were saved. The year 2010 is also not an exception and officials are really worried about this tendency to commit suicide in the metro tracks. Within one week in the month of June the metro rail service has witnessed two consecutives suicides and both are not very old in their age.

We all live in a very stressful life in the recent era and many people do not have much potentiality to get over their problems. They prefer to escape from their lives to get rid to their various problems. The authority of metro rail service gives their best to solve this and they are doing a constant research and development to keep people away from using such a proud service to fulfill their ultimate destructive wish. They have used numerous CCDs to observe but in spite of the fact something is lacking and the number of suicidal case is increasing day after day. The time has come to save our pride from being the terror place of taking numerous lives. The authority needs to take a little more care with each and every passenger to reduce the suicidal case on the track of metro railway.

Raavan- reflex ion of the reality.
Posted on by Dipmoy Mukherjee

Raavan is the latest composition of the camera-pen of the well-known filmmaker Maniratnam. The director has interpreted the epic The Ramayana and has depicted the fight between Raavan and Ram in a modified way with a little touch of feminism. At the end of the film the audience fall in love and become sympathetic to the tragic end of the character of Veera starred by Abhishek Bachchan. Veera is the replica of Raavan. He is the enemy of all the police force or in other words Veera is the symbol of revolution against the authority or the Government itself. He is the sole ruler of his own world and has his own way of justice in his region where he is the lord of all things. Veera makes his own rules just to survive from the unfair deeds of the policemen. The authority has created its own biggest enemy who is just un putdown able. People love him and respect all his decision and never mind to plea in front of the police so that they can release all the charges against Veera. Maniratnam has designed the character as the extreme lover of Sita, Ragini starred by Aishwarya rai is this film. He does not harm the woman or even never tries to disgrace her. At the end of the film, Veera brings the truth in front of everybody that he is the savior of the backward class people though his method is against the law of this country.

Somehow we can equalize the story with the tale of Jungle Mahal in recent time. Kishenji has his own rules and method of revolution against the Government though his way of showing disgust is completely out of the law. In opposed to Veera, Kishenji targets the innocent and simple people just to give a hardcore shivering to the Government. He also pours all of his hatred to the security force and the policemen. The same terror and the same struggle for ideology are happening in the real world. There is a little difference between the reel world and the real world. On the screen, Maniratnam has ended up with character of Veera along with his region though he is not so malice. In the reality we can just hope that there will be a quick end of the fight between the Maoists and the government in which no body but the innocent people are suffering and loosing their relatives on sudden deaths. We may have the end of this struggle but the question still remains whether the end of Kishenji and his region will bring a true end of the revolution against the various injustice and misdeed of the Government?

This is the biggest entertainment and refreshment for each and every Football lover. This will be the 19th version of the tournament. This is the biggest event in the world of soccer and after the hectic qualification round among 204 of the 208 FIFA national teams since 2007 only 32 teams have qualified and they will fight for the most prestigious trophy from 11th June, 2010 to 11th July, 2010. All of them have already played in the tournament before and there will be no fresher team in this year. The countdown begins
Posted on by Dipmoy Mukherjee

The urban Bengal has announced its verdicts on 2nd June, 2010 through the unexpected result of the civic polls. The previous results in the Panchayat election and the Lok Shabha election are emphasized more by the 95/42 victory of the Trinamool Congeress against the left in the Municipal Election. It is undoubtedly very clear that the people of west Bengal want a radical change in their political ground after the 33 years long rule by the left front. Nobody will be surprised if Mamata Banerjee becomes the Chief Minister of this State through the Assembly Election that is going to be held in the year 2011. There is no doubt that a huge part of the left front supporters have shifted their preference and opinion due to numerous reasons since a few past years.

Mamata Banerjee’s victory in the municipal poll also emphasizes one more thing that the Trinamool Congress has assured their grounds in the UPA alliance at the central more deeply. There is no more any doubt that Trinamool Congress can fight solely against the left front in the assembly election. They have such a strong grip in this state now. In spite of their alliance at the central government, the local congress leaders decided not to make any alliance in the municipal election and in almost all of their promotional campaigns the leaders did not think twice before grudging against the TMC chief. They prefer TMC to make their target rather than the CPM. The huge crush and the overwhelming success of the TMC leaders have made them speechless. They have to pull themselves and think about the alliance once more for the forthcoming assembly election otherwise they will nothing but just the Stooge of CPM in this state which is not at all good for the image at the central. Mamata Banerjee is declared the latest ruler of this election without any such support or alliance from any other party. Although it would be a great help for them if they make alliance with Congress to fight against the left for the power at the writers’ with a huge margin. Just after the announcement of the overall result, the local leaders of Congress who have poured all their grudges at the election campaign pulled their legs as they have understood very well that Congress needs Trinamool Congress to rule at the centre. Even they have nothing to do rather accepting the option of alliance in the forthcoming Assembly election just to keep their existence in this state. The result has given an enough space for the Trinamool chief that she can fight without the alliance and can win even though Congress and the left make their surprise alliance for the Assembly Election. In that case, Congress will loose the support from TMC and the power at the central even in the state as well. In other words they can be just swept away. The municipal election has declared Mamata Banerjee as the sole leader whom people want. The main trick of the game of politics is now at the hand of this lady leader and she can play with the luck of other parties. She has turned out to be the leading icon in the field of politics through her fight against land acquisition in Nandigram and Singur, Rizwanur Rahman’s death, the Sachar Commission report and many other issues for which the left has lost their touch with the common people and the grassroots. As a result just like the rural people the urban Bengal has decided to have a change in their ruling throne by giving all the power at the hand of the Trinamool supreme to deal with other parties. Congress has now become just a card in the game and the lady leader can do whatever she wants with this national party though Mamata Banerjee has declared that she has no problem with such alliance and even with the party itself rather some local leaders. No the countdown has begun for the assembly election and the time has come just to wait and watch for the common people as they have done their move.

Who will be responsible? What will we do?
Posted on by Dipmoy Mukherjee

Just two day’s before the municipal vote, the state of west Bengal has witnessed a devastating train accident in West Midnapore district. 13 coaches of Mumbai-bound Gyaneshwari Express were derailed and after that collided head on head with a good train at the very early morning on 28th May 2010. It has been suspected that it was nothing but Maoists attack which took away the lives of At least 120 passengers within a moment and almost 160 were injured and they are struggling for survival. According to the very preliminary report of the accident fishplates had been unbolted in a section of the track.

It is really very unfortunate that the Maoists have targeted such innocent persons in this country for their achievement. They have targeted the simple citizens of this country to achieve their success. The innocent children and many other normal people are now their weapon to fight against the Government for their demand. Whatever the Maoists do is not at all agreeable and that is why we all defined as the Maoists who are not at all the part of our civilized and democratic country called India.

Just after the accident when the relatives and family members are even not at know that their dear ones have faced such a huge disaster politicians of this land do not waste a moment to make various political games surrounding the accident or may it is better to say over the dead bodies of hundreds of people who were responsible as they elected such politicians to be the leaders of their lives. From the ruling party to the opponent and various other parties as well started their scheduled schemes to utilize the opportunity for their benefits for the coming election. What we call this attitude? Do not you think that the Maoists at least speak and have the guts to say in front of everybody? They do not wear such a mask as the well wishers of the people of the land. We all know that they are harmful and we can take cautious care of ourselves from them. What will we do when the politicians whom we elect and give them the permission to run the wheel of the country use the lives of hundreds of innocent people among us as the weapon of the game of democratic circus?

Tough to belief but reality is stronger than fiction
Posted on by Dipmoy Mukherjee

On the very early morning of the 22nd day in the month of May, 2010 India has witnessed most terrible flight crash of the decade. An Air India Express flight from Dubai to Mangalore faced the huge disaster while it was on its run way at the at the Mangalore airport at 6:05 am. The captains were unable to control its speed while landing on the very narrow run away and skidded by breaking the fence and crashed at the valley. Everything was normal and under control even the captains did not give any kind of mysterious message to the control while they were getting signal for their landing. It was perfect but suddenly the relatives of the passengers and the officials of the airport authority witnessed that the flight was veered away and skidding towards the valley by hitting one of its antenna on the ground. Hundreds of witnesses saw that aircraft was broken and divided into two parts and through the gap a few passengers were thrown out.

People were perplexed and mesmerized as they are used to observe such scene in any kind of films but in reality they were witnessing the death of their relatives or dear ones. The airport authority was observing the loss of their colleagues and many people within just a few minutes. People waiting at the airport were not at all aware that they were going to experience such a traumatic accident while the flight was landing in a perfect manner. There was nothing to do and the aircraft feel down at the valley by taking away 158 lives just in a moment. Nobody can guess what happened at that moment and all are busy in presuming various reasons for the accident. Some says it was for the tire burst but it was a mystery, as the pilots did not give any such distress call at the time of landing. CISF is doing their job in finding the bodies of hundreds of people but it was really tough for the relatives to detect their dear ones. In spite of the huge crowd of the rescue team and the relatives of the victims a silence spreads all over the place and once again its is proved that reality is stranger than fiction and nobody knows at which form death comes and takes away our dear ones!!!
