Kolkata Knight Riders, the name itself says that this is the Kolkata team for the DLF Indian Premiere League, which is nothing, but the promotional tournament of T20 cricket. The famous actor Shahrukh Khan is the owner of this team along with Juhi Chawla & Jai Mehta and Joy Bhattacharya is the CEO of this team. KKR is the second most valuable franchise brand. There is no doubt that nobody but Sourav Ganguly is the captain of this team. Hoog Lee is the mascot of this team.
From the very initial level of its journey till today, the performance of this team has not improved in a huge way. Just like the previous two Leagues this year also the team has started with two great victories but then its journey faces numerous constraints. At the very initial level KKR won two matches simultaneously increasing the expectation. But after that there was no hope and the last match on13.04.10 with Chennai Super Kings has completely broken the dreams of many Kolkatan and simultaneously the team as well. It can be expected that the team is not going to face any challenge for Semi Finals either. The situation completely depends on other teams and there are numerous calculations and chance factors lay behind the entire matter of going into the semifinals which also do not speak about any such capabilities of the team but also on the capabilities of other teams that can pave its path to the Semi finals.
There are a number of good players in this team and moreover Wasim Akram is formal bowling coach recruited for this year. But there is no such result. When other teams are getting more and more better position than the previous year. This is the only team that is showing a constant deterioration in its performance. Nobody in this team has the passion to win not even the captain himself apart from a few games. There is no such passion that can be seen through the activities of all players of this team as if they have habituated with the loosing rather than winning any game. Even there is no such great captaincy from the captain in this year as if the captain is also not getting much interest in the tournament. They just play the game just because they have to. It is really unfortunate for the owners though it is also a fact that in spite of such losses for last three years the team is earning a lot of revenue just through several sponsorships.
