Glittering performance of A R Rahman !!

The name of Indian Music Maestro A R Rahman is known all over the world these days because of his golden achievements. This great music director from India has once again registered his powerful presence on the world level as he won two Grammy Awards on the 1st Day of February, 2010 in a glittering and star-studded event night at Los Angeles, in the USA. A R Rahman had won two Academy Awards last year for the legendary film “A Slumdog Millionaire”. These achievements are rare as no Indian film personality has won so many historical awards at the highest level in the world. It is worth mentioning that Academy Awards (also known as Oscar Awards) are the highest film awards in the world and the Grammy Awards are the highest Awards given in the field of Music.

It is matter of great pride for Rahman as well as for every Indian that he got the Grammy Awards in both the categories for which he was nominated. Rahman got his first Grammy for the category of best compilation soundtrack for any motion film and he got his second Grammy for the best song for the best motion picture category.

In the first category, Rahman defeated Quentin Tarantino for “Inglorious Bastards”, Steve Jordon for “Cadillac Records” and the makers of the films “True Blood” and “Twilight” to receive his first Grammy. On the other hand, the second Grammy came to Rahman for his celebrated song “Jay Ho” for the film “Slumdog Millionaire”. In a tough competition, Rahman defeated noted singer and music composer Bruce Springsteen for his song “The Wrestler’ for the film with the identical name. It was also nominated for the Oscars.

Due to these sparkling achievements, Rahman has glorified the name of the country in different national and international platforms. However, one should not forget that the great Indian music Maestro has bagged the Golden Globe Award also. This extraordinary musical personality from India is expected to bring more glory to the country in the time to come. Every Indian should feel the pride that Rahman must have felt while receiving the mementos of the Grammy Awards.
