The fight for the top spot

The long-awaited test match series between the National teams of India and South Africa began in Nagpur on 6th February, 2010. It is a test series between the two teams that hold first and the second position as per the ICC cricket ratings. The Indian team is the top team in the test match rankings whereas South Africa enjoys the second spot. Therefore, you can easily understand the heat that is running in the players as well as the supporters of the teams. It is quite understandable that the Indian team will try its best to maintain its top rank and the South Africans will try their level best to get the top spot. It is worth mentioning here that the South African team is at the top in the one-day from of the competition.

Both the teams are not showing any weakness in their preparation and the mind game is also open between the players of the two teams. It is a part of the teams that compete against each other to get better against the other. It is going to be a series, in which many world records would be put on stake as the players like Sachin Tendulkar, Virendra Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Jacques Kallis, Hasim Amla, A B de Villiers etc. will be trying their best to register their strong presence in the series by dint of their outstanding performances.

The competition is going to be very tough and that is certainly good for the sake of the game. However, it is important for the teams to maintain their cool on the ground and they should maintain highest level of discipline there. That will be the most desirable thing by the players of both the teams. The team that will show and prove its supremacy over the other has all right in the world to introduce itself as the world no. 1.Truely so!
