Mamta’s RAIL BUDGET !

The budget plays a very significant role in the economy of a country. India, the largest democracy in the world needs a lot of plans and programs to meet the necessary requirements of more that 110 million citizens. The country follows a very transparent planning to rule the country and to make arrangements of the funds that these planning allow. The people of the country as well as the world look forward to India during the month of February every year as this is the month in which the Government of India decides two of its most important financial decisions, namely- the Rail Budget and the General Budget. These two budgets determine the policies of the Government in the following year as the funds are provided according to these two budgets.

As per the schedule of the Budget Session in the year 2010-2011, the Railway Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee tabled the Railway Budget for the year on 25th February, 2010. Her budget was being expected to be a budget that would make railway journey more comfortable for the common man. As per all the on-going speculation and previews, the Railway Budget turned out to be a budget for the common man. As per the post-budget reviews are concerned, the budget is going to make a mixed response among different political parties. However, the consumers, the railway passengers have welcomed the different provisions that have been made in the Railway Budget’10.

The main points of this Railway Budget this year are as follows:

* The budget makes no increase in the fares for the common passengers. No fare is increased in the rate of goods carriages.
* The Budget shows provisions of 54 new long-distance trains including mails, express, and superfast trains. These new trains are distributed among all the constituent states of the Indian republic.
* There is a provision for introduction of 6 long-distance and 4 mid-distance Duronta express trains.
* The e-ticket charges are lowered by considerable rate.
* The cancer patients are proposed to get total exemption from the conveyance charges on every trip of their treatment.
* All the other socio-economic plans that were continuing from the earlier times are provisioned to continue. This includes free travelling for the students etc.
* The state of West Bengal enjoys some special attractions in the railway budget. The state has been facilitated with a number of superfast trains to different destinations. The local train system in the state is going to see some more Ladies’ Special trains from Barasat and Krisnanagar.
* Many welfare programs are likely to be initiated in the state as well as in the other parts of the country.
* Many hospitals and diagnostic centers are likely to come up on the railway lands scattered in the different places.
* Electrification of many existing routes, increasing the gauge of some other train routes, and expansion of the railway network in the country are some of the other attractions that have been included in the Railway Budget this year.

The Railway Minister has all made considerable focus on the welfare of the lower and underprivileged class of the society. The budget has enough provisions for generating employment opportunities to the technical and non0-technical unemployed people. However, the most important thing about this budget lies in the fact lies in its optimism as many of the provisions that are made in the budget are not yet approve by the Planning Commission of India. However, the Railway Minister is very much optimistic about meeting all the aspirations that are made in it.

Feel The Love In The Air During the Valentine Month.

As per the continuing traditions all over the world, the month of February every year is celebrated as the Valentine month and the 14th Day of the month is celebrated as the Valentine’s Day. Actually, no one knows the actual reason for which this month or that particular date every year is celebrated as they are being celebrated. However, the present form of the occasion has also developed very recently.

If you try to find the origin of this type of a celebration, you may find that it is named after St. Valentine who died about one thousand years ago. However, it is still difficult to say that this same Valentine was the actual source of this celebration. Today, this month, or especially that date is marked as the day for the loving couple. It is the day on which a couple confirms their love for each other and takes oaths to remain by one-another’s side forever. This day witnesses many loving couples trying to establish their love for the first time. The lover and his beloved exchange gifts as their token of love for each other.

Altogether, this month and that particular day are marked with unprecedented rush at different ‘Lovers’ Spots” where many couples assemble to make love with each other. If you believe at the purity and sanctity of the relationship, it should be taken as a very pious day, but due to some severe change in the attitude of the boys and girls of the younger generations indulge in dirty activities and make the whole atmosphere unworthy for celebration. This degradation in the atmosphere has taken place due to improper attitude of these young boys and girls and also their ingenuine attraction towards the opposite sexes.

However, it is the responsibility of the older generation to make these young boys and girls to remember their limitations and help them to understand the purity of their relationship. It is nothing bad in setting a love relationship, but it is very important to maintain the purity of the relationship. The love remains in the air during this month of the year, it is important to keep it healthy and enjoyable.

A Tribute to Jyoti Basu !!

Jyoti Basu, you cannot remember this name in one certain way. This name is the witness of reconstruction of West Bengal, one of the most important states of the Republic Of India. He was a great diplomat, a great politician, an outstanding administrator and above all a very good human being. A person like Jyoti Basu must be called as a great son of the motherland. This great leader of the whole Indian political scenario passed away on Sunday, the 17th Day of January 2010. The whole India and the world will remember Jyoti Basu as a great political leader who lived for his ideologies and dominated the politics of the state and the country for more than six decades. Ebizzkolkata.com expresses its sincere floral tributes to this great-departed soul.

Mr. Jyoti Basu was born in the year 1914 in a middle-class family in Kolkata. He got his education in the premier schools and colleges like ST. Xavier’s School, Kolkata and Presidency College also in Kolkata. He got his degree in law from Middle Temple, London. During his stay in UK, he got greatly influenced by the ideas of Marxism. On his return to India, he joined the Communist Party of India (Marxist). Due to his wonderful leadership abilities and a versatile capacity of delivering speeches, he became an inseparable part of the party and emerged as a very powerful trade union leader. His contribution in reforming the Communist movement in West Bengal will be remembered by the people forever.

Jyoti Basu won his first general election for the Legislative Assembly of West Bengal during the days of colonialism. He performed the role of a very powerful leader of opposition from 1952 to 1957. You can easily judge his charismatic leadership as he won all the assembly election that held between 1952 and 1996. In the meantime, he became a very important member of the CPI (M) Politburo and the central core committee.

This undisputed leader of the CPI (M) became the Chief Minister of West Bengal on 21st June 1977 and glorified this post for the next five consecutive terms. His role as the iron man of the state politics brought him recognition from all corners of the world and he was respected by the world leaders due to his vision and philosophy towards politics. Due to his unparallel abilities as an administrator, he performed a major role in the national politics also.

After the trend of coalition governments started in the country, he played a major role in the formation of the first UPA government in the centre. He was offered the post of the Prime Minister. However, the disciplined Basu did not accept this post by following the decision that was taken by the Polit Bureau of CPI (M). Jyoti Basu showed tremendous amount of maturity in his entire life that was dedicated to the politics and service of humanity.

Ebizzkolkata.com greatly admires these qualities of Jyoti Basu and pays its homage to this tallest communist leader in spite of his short-statured figure. We, at Ebizzkolkata.com, wish that the God might rest the departed soul in peace!

India’s loosing power continues !!

The game of cricket is accepted as a religion in India and the cricketers are regarded as gods, only if they perform consistently. Many cricketers have glorified the nation senior team of India with their sublime performances. Their personal performances are regarded as milestones for the cricketers of this generation. However, the success rate of India is not a new story.

India emerged as World Champions of the game in the year 1983 when the Indian skipper Kapil Dev lifted the Prudential World Cup by defeating the world champions West Indies comprehensively. This was just the beginning and after that many Indian skipper led the national team and set their own personal achievements. However, the concept of fighting spirit was invoked in the team under the fighting captaincy of  Sourav Gangly.

But, if you notice a certain trend, you will be doubtful about the success story of Team India. The team shows comparatively good performances in the league stages of any major cricketing event, but fails to show that same consistency level in the final matches. Therefore, the last five to six years, Team India has reached into the finals of many finals of major cricketing events, but failed to lift the championship trophy in the end. This cannot be the failure of the captain. However, for the whole team that fails to display same exploits in all the departments of the game.

At present, Team India enjoys top ranking in the test cricket and is very close to the same position in the one-day internationals. The same chaotic situation is still continuing. In the last tri-series held in Bangladesh, Team India put a formidable performance in the league stages and won three out of four matches. It defeated the Sri Lankan team as well, but in the final encounter, the team lost to the same Sri Lankan side. If you make a n analysis of the possible reasons of this performance, you would not find any solid reason for this. The self-satisfaction and over-confidence can be the possible reasons for this poor display of performance in the finals.

Team India needs to sit down together and try to sort out the reasons that cause the problems to the performance of the whole team. It should be done as soon as possible as the next world championship is knocking at the door and the team needs to look into these as soon as possible.
